Finanskonferencen 2013 – Private Wealth Management

Finanskonferencen er et nyt initiativ og et led i den fortsatte udvikling
af vores tilbud til medlemmerne. Den er tænkt som en årlig begivenhed, der
føjer sig til de to andre store, traditionsrige arrangementer Nytårsmiddagen
og Virksomhedsdagen og ligesom disse kombinerer kompetenceudvikling
med networking for investment professionals i Danmark.

I 2013 sætter vi fokus på det højaktuelle emne Private Wealth Management,
og vi har inviteret en række prominente talere fra ind- og udland til at belyse emnet fra forskellige vinkler.

Program

Konferencen kombinerer plenumsessioner med to sideløbende spor, der giver deltagerne mulighed for fordybelse.

Torsdag aften er der festmiddag, og konferencen slutter fredag med en let frokost.

Tonny Thierry Andersen, Head of Personal Banking, Danske Bank

Tonny Thierry Andersen serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Realkredit Danmark A/S. Mr. Andersen has been a Member of the Executive Board at Danske Bank A/S since September 1, 2006, and serves as its Head of Personal Banking. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Danske Bank A/S from October 2003 to October 1, 2010 and as its Head of Banking Activities for Denmark since 2010; Senior Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President/ Head of Group Finance from 2001 to 2003. He served as First Vice President of Nykredit Bank A/S, from 1996 to 1999.

Steen Bocian, cheføkonom, Danske Bank

Bocian har det overordnede ansvar for bankens økonomiske analyser – og det er også det, han tager udgangspunkt i som skribent på økonomernes skrivebord. Han vil således sætte fokus på de emner, som ligger højt på den økonomiske dagsorden.
Steen Bocian er uddannet cand. polit fra Københavns Universitet i 1996. Han har været ansat i Danske Bank siden 2000, inden da nåede han at arbejde som økonom i Det Økonomiske Råds sekretariat (vismandsinstitutionen) og i Arbejderbevægelsens Erhvervsråd.

Peter Christensen, Venstres finanspolitiske ordfører og næstformand for Folketingets Skatteudvalg.

Han er tillige medlem af Folketingets Finansudvalg og Kontaktudvalget for det tyske mindretal, medlem af Ligningsrådet, og har være skattepolitisk ordfører 2001-2005. Peter har været medlem af Folketinget siden den 20. november 2001 og var landsformand for VU 1999-2001 samt medlem af Venstres hovedbestyrelse 1997-2001. Medlem af TV-Syds fondsbestyrelse 1996-99.

Søren Gade, underdirektør, Finansrådet

Søren Gade er leder af området Regulering-Økonomi, som bl.a beskæftiger sig med reguleringsforhold for værdipapirområdet og kapitalkravs- og regnskabsforhold samt skat. Desuden har han det daglige ansvar for ledelsen af sekretariatet for Børsmæglerforeningen. Søren Gade er udannet cand. oecon. fra Aarhus Universitet i 1989 og har tidligere været ansat i Finansministeriet.

Stig Haldan, kundedirektør, Nykredit Asset Management

Stig Haldan er cand.merc. FIR fra CBS i 1993 og har tilbragt årene 1995-2004 i London som hhv. analytiker hos Alfred Berg og head of sales hos Deutsche Bank. 2004-2008 arbejdede han hos BankInvest som head of Danish equities og senere af global emerging markets. Siden 2008 har han været ansat hos Nykredit, først som head of solutions & client management og fra 2010 som kundedirektør. Stig er medlem af bestyrelsen i Nykredit Portefølje Administration.

Troels Hauer Holmberg, seniorøkonom, Forbrugerrådet

Troels Holmberg arbejder i Forbrugerrådets sekretariat med ansvar for investeringsområdet. Troels er medlem af Erhvervs- og Vækstministerens Penge- og Pensionspanel, og har siden 2007 været medlem af Pengeinstitutankenævnet. I ankenævnet har han været med til at afgøre mere end 300 klager over investeringsprodukter og -rådgivning. Han arbejder med interessevaretagelse på det finansielle område i Danmark og Bruxelles, hvor han er medlem af finansudvalget i den europæiske forbrugerorganisation. Troels Holmberg er cand.scient.pol. fra Københavns Universitet og har læst HD Finansiering på CBS.

Dr. Harry Hurzeler, Senior Advisor, the Swiss Finance Institute

Before assuming his current role in October 2012, Harry was COO and Director Executive Education of the Swiss Finance Institute since its inception in 2006, and prior to that was the Managing Director of the Swiss Banking School from 1998 until its merger into the Swiss Finance Institute in 2006.
Besides managing executive education, Harry built and led the private banking seminars of both institutions. Harry has taught strategic developments in private banking for the past 14 years to well over 1000 banking executives from over 50 countries. Harry has taught on all continents except Australia.
Prior to his career in executive education, Harry spent 13 years at Credit Suisse, in various functions such as Managing Director of CS Trust & Banking in Tokyo, as Managing Director and Country Manager Japan for CS First Boston, and as Head of CS’s international IT. Harry has a PhD in mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, has taught at Ohio State University as a professor of mathematics, and has a Master in Business from the University of St. Gall, Switzerland.

Thomas Broeng Jørgensen, underdirektør i Finanstilsynet

Thomas Broeng Jørgensen har bl.a. ansvaret for forhandlingerne af internationale finansielle sager, likviditets- og fundinganalyse, koordinering af SIFI-analyser samt kontakt med investeringsbanker og ratingbureauer. Thomas har tidligere arbejdet i Finansministeriet og Økonomi-og Erhvervsministeriet bl.a. med indskud af hybrid af kernekapital i kreditinstitutter.

Kurt Kara, aktiechef, Maj Invest

Kurt Kara er aktiechef og partner ved Maj Invest med ansvar for alle investeringer indenfor områderne value, kvant samt hedgefonde.

Han har 14 års erfaring med aktieinvesteringer og har tidligere arbejdet som porteføljemanager, aktiestrateg og analytiker i Danske Bank / Danske Capital og er cand. polit fra Københavns Universitet i 1997.

Rahul Keshap, Head, Education Special Projects, CFA Institute

Rahul Keshap is Head of Education Special Projects at CFA Institute, where he is focused on evaluating new certificates or designations that CFA Institute may develop, such as the Claritas Investment Certificate, due for launch in May 2013. He joined CFA Institute in December 2002 and spent more than two years based in Hong Kong as Director of Asia Pacific Strategy & Operations. Before CFA Institute, Mr. Keshap worked in the United States as an attorney at a business law firm in Virginia and a communications law firm in Washington, DC. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Government and also received a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia.

David Moalem, Ph.D., partner, Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen,

David Moalem is a recognized expert and practitioner within Capital Markets and Financial Institutions and holds a Ph.D.-degree in Capital Markets Law. Besides his legal practice he serves as member of several committees set down by the Danish Government and the Danish FSA, ie the Danish government’s EU Financial Regulation Committee and the Danish FSA’s EU Forum. Further, he is acknowledged for his academic contributions within capital markets law and financial regulation with his publications comprising seven books and more than fifty articles in Scandinavian and International legal journals. In 2001 he was awarded the Tuborg Foundation’s Business Scholar Prize for outstanding research in capital markets law.

Michael Møller, professor, Institute of Finance, CBS

Michael Møller is a member of the Board of The Danish Central Bank and a couple of other boards, as well as consultant for a pension fund. He has been member of several public committees (Tax Reform Committee etc).His main interest is in the application of economic theory to a Danish environment, especially concerning taxes. He has written books about Personal Finance, Art & Economics and about Tax Economics.

Peter Nielsen, managing director, country manager for BlackRock Norden
og chef for BlackRock’s institutionelle forretning på det europæiske kontinent.

Peter Nielsen startede i 2005 hos Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), der fusionerede med BlackRock i 2006. Forud for sin nuværende rolle, har Peter Nielsen været ansvarlig for at opbygge relationer til institutionelle kunder i Norden. Før Peter Nielsen startede hos MLIM, arbejdede han som advokat med speciale i M&A. Peter Nielsen har en BA grad og en MSc grad i jura fra Københavns Universitet samt en MBA grad fra Bath University.

Ronald Paterson, partner, Eversheds Financial Institutions Group

Ronald has extensive experience of advising the fund management industry. He regularly advises investors in venture capital funds, private equity funds and hedge funds. He is ranked by Chambers Directory of the Legal Profession which commends him for “his vast experience, strong technical ability and good common-sense problem-solving skills”.

Ronald is a former member of the Technical Committee of the Association of Investment Companies, a member of its working party on the Alternative Investment Fund Managers’ Directive and a non-executive director of British & American Investment Trust PLC.

Alain Picquet, partner, Head of Advisory & Markets, KPMG Luxembourg

With a career stretching back 25 years, Alain Picquet grew up in Liège, where he gained his degree from HEC. After three years as an auditor for Peat Marwick Mitchell in Luxembourg, he joined the CCF (Crédit Commercial de France) to oversee the establishment of an entity in Luxembourg, and specifically the operational part, i.e. IT, back office, accounting and organisation. He was subsequently tasked with a similar assignment at CCF Monaco, then in Geneva.
Alain was called to KPMG in 1990 to set up the Advisory department in Luxembourg, which he would become head of eight years later.

Javier Rodriguez-Alarcon, Executive Director, Goldman Sachs

Javier is an Executive Director and focuses on product development, communications and strategy for the QIS platform in the institutional, private wealth, and third-party channels for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Previously, Javier was a Senior Strategist and Head of UK and Europe Strategic Accounts, Client Solutions at Barclays Global Investors Ltd. (BGI). While at BGI, Javier took a lead role in the strategic design, marketing and development of BGI’s Multi Strategy Hedge Funds and Global Multi-Asset products in Europe, Latin America and Asia Ex-Japan. Javier holds a BA in Financial Management and Accounting from The Catholic University of America, Washington DC, and a MSc. in International Securities, Investments and Banking from the University of Reading, UK.

Bob Swarup, Principal at Camdor Global

Dr Bob Swarup is a respected international expert and commentator on financial markets, alternatives, asset–liability management, regulation and pensions. He is the Founder of Camdor Global, an advisory firm that works with financial institutions and investors across the spectrum on strategic issues around investment strategy, asset-liability management, risk management and business realignment / restructuring. He was formerly a senior partner at Pension Corporation, a leading UK-based pension buyout firm with $10bn of assets under their stewardship, where he ran their investments in alternative assets, was the Chief Risk Officer and oversaw the Thought Leadership unit. In addition, Bob was a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics; a member of the Advisory Board of Adveq, a leading European PE fund of funds with $6bn AUM; an Observer Member of the Board of CatCo, a $2bn reinsurance hedge fund that he helped seed in 2011; and sat on several committees of the Association of British Insurers.

Bob is a Fellow of the Institute of Economic Affairs, an Associate of Lombard Street Research, a Senior Visiting Fellow at CASS Business School in London; a CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) charter-holder and a member of the CAIA Examinations Council. He holds a PhD in cosmology from Imperial College London, and an MA (Hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Bob has written extensively on diverse topics, including most recently, papers on the unintended macroeconomic consequences of financial regulation; and the parallels between debt restructuring in Europe in the 1920s and today, and the lessons to be learnt. He is currently writing a book on financial crises throughout history and the common human factors underlying them, to be published by Bloomsbury Press in 2013.

Thomas Thygesen, chef for asset research, SEB

Thomas er cand Polit fra KU og har arbejdet som økonom og strateg i den finansielle sektor siden 1987. Siden 2008 har han været chef for SEB’s X-asset research team med fokus på både aktiv og passiv asset allocation.
